In 2023 Sudipto Sen and Vipul Amrutlal Shah directed and produced Indian Hindi-language drama The Kerala Story. It stars Adah Sharma, Yogita Bihani, Sonia Balani, and Siddhi Idnani. A fictional story follows a group of Keralan women who join the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) after being forced to convert to Islam. This film falsely claims that thousands of Keralan women have been recruited for ISIS and converted to Islam under the love jihad theory.
