It has been announced that Disney has released the trailer and poster for the upcoming live-action remake of its animated musical classic The Little Mermaid. The movie is a reimagining of the studio’s animated musical classic. On the 95th Annual Academy Awards broadcast, where Halle Bailey and Melissa McCarthy made their live debuts as the stars of the film, the trailer was revealed by two of the film’s stars. An official statement from the makers of the movie says, “The Little Mermaid is a beloved story of Ariel, a beautiful and spirited young mermaid who has an adventurous spirit and a thirst for new experiences.
Ariel, the youngest and most stubborn of King Triton’s daughters, longs to discover more about the world beyond the sea and, while visiting the surface, falls in love with the handsome Prince Eric, who seems to have no hesitation in reaching out to her.
