Akshata Murty is a British-based fashion designer. She is a non-domiciled UK resident and an Indian citizen. She is the 222nd richest woman in Britain as she holds a 0.93% stake in the Indian multi-national IT company Infosys. She is the wife of Prime Minister-designate of the United Kingdom, Rishi Sunak.
Rishi is a former Chancellor of the Exchequer and Conservative Party politician. Recently, her husband emerged as the top candidate to compete in the election for the post of UK Prime Minister but was defeated. Murty owns shares in Wendy’s in India, Koro Kids, Digme Fitness, and two of Jamie Oliver’s restaurant businesses. When her fashion label closed in 2012 she became the director of a Venture Capital Fund. She is also co-founder of Infosys of the London branch.
