Adani was born in a Jain family to a small textile merchant, Shantilal Adani, and housewife Shantaben Adani in Ahmedabad, Gujarat. He has 7 siblings. Earlier his parents used to live in the small town of Tharad(a town in Banaskantha, Gujrat) but later shifted to the northern part of Gujarat.[2]
