Lawrence Joseph Ellison professionally known as Larry Ellison is a popular American businessman magnate and investor. He is the chairman, chief technology officer, co-founder and largest shareholder of Oracle Corporation, the software giant company[1]. He owns more than 40% of the Oracle Corporation in Austin, Texas-based company. Besides Oracle, he owns stakes in Tesla (1.5%), a sailing team, the Indian Wells tennis event, and real estate, including San Francisco, Lake Tahoe, Malibu, Rhode Island, Japan and Hawaii, as well as Hawaii-based airline Island Air[2].
He was born on August 17, 1944 in Bronx, New York, USA to an unwed Jewish mother and an Italian-American United States Army Air Corps pilot father. His mother gave him to her aunt and uncle for adoption. After being adopted at nine months old, he was raised on the south side of Chicago by his mother’s aunt and uncle. His educational background includes, schooling from South Shore High School, Chicago; Graduation from Eugene Field Elementary School, Chicago; Drop Out, University of Chicago; Drop Out, University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign[3].
Beside Business, Ellison is an actor and producer, popular for Iron Man 2 (2010), Untitled Sudan Project with Larry Ellison and Steve Jobs: Visionary Entrepreneur (2013). Larry Ellison News Of Speeding
Larry Ellison, who owns nearly 98% of the Hawaiian island of Lanai, was caught running a stop sign and speeding last year.
According to Hawaii News Now, based on police body-camera footage, the Oracle co-founder was pulled over last October while driving his orange Corvette. “The reason I stopped you is you ran through the stop sign and you were kind of speeding there, “the officer is heard telling Larry Ellison on body cam footage[8].
Ellison apologized and told the officer he was trying to get home to have dinner with his kids.
“But there’s no excuse,” Ellison said. “There’s no good excuse.”
As Hawaii News Now reported, Ellison was asked for his license, registration, and insurance, but he did not have it, according to the report.
About 98% of the island, which is about 141 square miles, was bought by Ellison in June 2012 for $300 million.
